Meadow Lake Golf Resort

Meadow Lake Golf Course in Columbia Falls, Montana is the resort anchor at Meadow Lake Golf & Ski Resort, sitting six miles east of Whitefish on the west edge of Glacier National Park country. The 6,703-yard par-72 layout plays to a 71.7 rating and 124 slope, with seven holes bordering streams and lakes, a water-on-water style of mountain resort golf that plays through Flathead Valley spruce forests with constant Rocky Mountain views. Originally built in 1974 during the regional tourism boom, the course has become associated with Colorado-based architect Dick (Richard) Phelps of Phelps Golf Design, who came through less than a decade after its debut to make strategic amends, his post-1980s refresh is the layout players see today, and he remains the architect on record. (John Steidel, ASGCA, has also been cited in course-history sources as an original designer.) Golf Digest rates Meadow Lake 4.5 stars and lists it among the six best courses to play in Montana; Golf Magazine calls it a 'must play.'
