Robin Nelson's 2000 Creek Course at Moose Run, Alaska's longest golf course at 7,324 yards and widely considered the toughest round in the state. Set on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson north of Anchorage, it's the flagship public-access tee time on the 49th-parallel tier of American golf. Signature holes play through reclaimed gravel pits that Nelson integrated into the routing, #6 and #11 are among the most photographed in Alaska, and #11 specifically is Alaska's longest single hole at 640 yards (par 5). Narrow fairways and strategic bunkering demand quality ball-striking, with split fairways on #4 and #5 asking for commitment off the tee. Conditioning holds up remarkably well for a sub-Arctic course. Golf Digest has ranked Moose Run Creek #1 in Alaska for 2015-16 and 2021-22, #2 in 2017-20 and 2025-26, and inside the top-5 since 2005. Also named #49 in America's 50 Toughest (Golf Digest, 2007) and #10 Top Military Golf Course in the World (Travel + Leisure, 2006). A bucket-list Alaska round.
