The Hill Course at Moose Run, Alaska's oldest 18-hole layout. A company of combat engineers first built the Hill in 1952 as 9 holes; the back nine was added in 1955, completing what's now billed (alongside the Creek) as 'the world's northernmost 36-hole golf facility' at the foot of the Chugach Mountains east of Anchorage. The Hill is moderate in length at 6,492 yards, fun and playable for all levels, with spruce and birch trees lining every fairway. The front nine plays hilly; the back flattens. Small greens reward accurate short-iron play, but wide forgiving fairways and water hazards on only two holes make the Hill the easier of Moose Run's two courses, the play-with-your-buddies counterpart to the Creek's championship test. Ranked #4 in Alaska by Golf Digest's 'Best in State' (2015) and #5 by Golfweek's Best Courses You Can Play (2016). A piece of Alaska golf history, pair with the Creek Course for 36 on the same bucket-list trip.
