About Chardonnay Golf Club

Chardonnay Golf Club in American Canyon, at the southern gateway to Napa Valley's wine district, is an Algie Pulley design that opened in 1991 as the predecessor to the area's modern wine-country golf portfolio. The 18-hole par-72 Vineyards Course meanders through acres of working Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards, with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks threading through the 7,000-plus-yard layout. Pulley routed the course for strategic variety: rolling elevation changes, mature oaks and cherry trees in play, and lightning-fast greens that reward precise approach play over raw distance. The par-3 8th is the hole most cited for memorable scenery and difficulty. Chardonnay is rated four stars on GolfPass and has built a reputation as one of the better-value championship-length rounds in the Napa-Sonoma region, consistently described by panelists as "a beautiful course for a great value." Some holes from the original Chardonnay were later incorporated into the nearby Eagle Vines layout (Johnny Miller + Jack Barry, 2004), which retains genetic ancestry to Pulley's original routing.
