Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin's 1960 Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National is a classic parkland design, genuinely unusual in Tucson, where the vast majority of courses lean into the surrounding Sonoran desert terrain. Catalina features tall shade trees, eight lakes threading through the routing, and manicured turf more reminiscent of Atlanta or Orlando than southern Arizona. The course has hosted more than 30 Tucson Chrysler Classic PGA Tour events over its decades-long tournament history, and is famous for one of the Tour's most demanding finishing holes: a 443-yard par-4 18th with water on both sides of the fairway leading to an elevated, heavily-bunkered green. Also hosts the Omni Tucson National Open and other regional events. Peak green fee runs $125-195 for resort guests, with substantial off-season rates. Fits a Tucson trip as the parkland counterpoint to the many desert-style courses in the region, a throwback to 1960s-era resort golf before the southwest golf scene standardized on cacti-and-waste-bunker aesthetics.
Omni Tucson National - Catalina Course's peak-season green fee is around $230 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Tucson trip cost
