Oxmoor Valley - Ridge Course

Robert Trent Jones Sr. opened the Ridge Course at Oxmoor Valley in 1992, one of the original RTJ Golf Trail sites, built on former US Steel mining land in Birmingham. The routing drapes across Appalachian foothills with some of the steepest elevation changes on the Trail, demanding a cart and a careful eye on distance control. The par-5 3rd is the signature hole and routinely cited among the best on the entire Trail: its green is tucked between exposed shelves of limestone shale, a direct tribute to the site's mining past. The par-3 8th drops dramatically downhill through the pines; the heavily wooded routing amplifies every wind line. 7,055 yards par-72 with huge undulating greens that reward lag putting over aggression.
