About

Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Poppy Hills in 1986 as the NCGA's home course on the Monterey Peninsula — the only course in the area owned by a golf association rather than a resort. Jones Jr. renovated it himself in 2014, stripping away trees and opening up ocean views that had been obscured for decades. It co-hosts the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill. Half the green fee of its neighbors with comparable quality.
