Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed Spyglass Hill in 1966, sited between Cypress Point and Monterey Peninsula Country Club, six years of planning, design, and construction preceded the opening. The first five holes run through oceanside dunes; the remaining 13 turn inland through the Del Monte Forest, giving the course an unusual architectural split that tests every club in the bag. Golf Digest has ranked Spyglass Hill as high as 5th on America's 100 Greatest Public Courses. Since 1967, it has been in the rotation of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a February PGA Tour stop. The course holds Audubon International's Cooperative Sanctuary certification (2000) for environmental stewardship. Trent Jones himself won the first Donald Ross Award for contributions to course architecture and was among the first architects inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame (1987), and Spyglass sits at the top of his public-access portfolio.
Spyglass Hill Golf Course's peak-season green fee is around $495 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Pebble Beach trip cost
