Tom Fazio opened the Fazio Course at Red Sky Golf Club in 2002, located 25 miles west of Vail in the Vail Resorts portfolio. The 7,113-yard par-72 layout starts atop a sage-and-juniper bluff for an open front nine, then climbs in switchbacks through aspen groves on the back nine before plunging downhill on the final three. The bunkering is Fazio at his most elaborate. The course is currently ranked #9 on Golf Digest's 2025-26 America's 100 Greatest Public Courses, and Golfweek raters have it as the #1 course in Colorado. Golf Magazine put it inside the U.S. Top 100 (#90) and #4 in Colorado, and chose it as a Top 10 Course You Can Play in 2003. Public-access pricing, but luxury-tier ($$$$) at peak — comparable to Bandon or Pinehurst marquee rates. For mountain-golf groups, this is one of the strongest combinations of design quality and altitude views in American golf.
