Ben Krueger, one of Vail, Colorado's founding pioneers, designed and built the Vail Golf Club in 1962, and then maintained the course himself from 1967 through 1992. The Vail Recreation District awarded Krueger a lifetime pass to the course upon his retirement in recognition of his 30-year stewardship. The course is now a Vail Rec District municipal operation. The 18-hole par-71 layout sits at the base of the Gore Mountain Range at 8,150 feet elevation, with dramatic views of the Vail and Gore ranges from almost every hole. Thinning air at altitude adds 10-15% distance to every shot, a rare strategic curveball for low-elevation visitors. Golf Digest has recognized Vail Golf Club as a 'Top 100 Resort Course.' Walking- and bike-friendly routing that summer visitors often pair with Gore Valley Trail loops or Vail Nordic Center rentals. Peak green fee runs $95-145 in high season. Fits a Vail summer trip as the mountain-muni value round paired with the higher-end Red Sky Ranch or Sonnenalp stops.
Vail Golf Club's peak-season green fee is around $135 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Vail trip cost
