Jack Nicklaus' 2006 Tradition Course at Reunion Resort (commonly called simply the Nicklaus Course) completes the three-architect signature trio, Palmer, Watson, and Nicklaus, that makes Reunion one of the very few destinations in the world with signature courses from each. Nicklaus designed Tradition as a target parkland 'player's course,' deliberately not 'resort golf.' 7,244 yards par-72 with a design philosophy that contrasts with the bolder Palmer (Legacy) and Watson (Independence) courses nearby: elevated tees and greens, strategic risk-reward decisions on almost every hole, clean minimalist lines rather than dramatic elevation change. Postage-stamp greens, forced carries to fairway landing zones sometimes only 50 yards wide, and enough trouble framing each hole to add real bite despite the modest yardage.
