John Fought opened the Championship Course at Sand Hollow in 2008, routing the course across red-rock mesas, desert washes, and canyon-edge cliffs outside Hurricane, Utah. Three holes made Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Holes ranking — most notably the par-3 15th, which plays over a canyon with a 100-foot drop and has graced the cover of Golfweek's Best Courses edition. Golf Magazine ranks Sand Hollow #54 Best Public Course in America (2024). Golfweek places it #58 on Best Public Course (2025), #58 on Best Resort Course (2026), and #170 on Best Modern Courses in America (2025). Golfweek's 2014 Top 100 Resort Courses had it at #42 and #1 in Utah. The course has been in Utah's top 10 since 2011 (currently 10th for 2025-26). Sand Hollow has been named Utah's Best Public Course two years in a row — the marquee golf stop in the greater Zion area.
