About Sandia Golf Club

Sandia Golf Club in Albuquerque is the signature championship public round of central New Mexico, a Scott Miller design that opened June 11, 2005 as part of the Sandia Resort & Casino property, developed by the Pueblo of Sandia. At 7,752 yards from the tips, Sandia is the longest course in New Mexico, yet Miller's routing accommodates players of all skill levels through five sets of tees and strategic green-complex design. Miller learned his craft working for Jack Nicklaus and has since built an independent practice focused on western US resort courses, and Sandia is his best-known Southwestern US work. The layout routes through rugged high-desert landscape with 48 strategically placed bunkers, challenging green complexes, and panoramic views of the Sandia Mountains to the east and greater Albuquerque to the west. The course earned Golf Inc.'s Best New Development of 2005 and Golf Magazine's Top 10 New Courses You Can Play (2005), double recognition in the course's debut year. For the Santa Fe / Albuquerque / New Mexico trip visitor, Sandia is the can't-miss championship round, paired naturally with Black Mesa (Baxter Spann, Española, 60 min north) and Paa-Ko Ridge (Ken Dye, 30 min east) for a three-round New Mexico destination-golf package.
