The Carolina Club in Grandy sits just south of the North Carolina / Virginia line in Currituck County, about 15 minutes inland from the Outer Banks beaches. Russell Breeden worked with JMP Golf Design Group (specifically Bob Moore) to open the 7,000-yard par-72 championship course in 1998, and it's since become one of the most-played public rounds in the Outer Banks region, a 20-minute drive from the Wright Memorial Bridge beach traffic for a true mainland golf experience. The signature hole is the par-3 7th, a 166-yard tee shot to a challenging island green, the kind of vertigo-inducing feature that turns a routine par-3 into an event. Five tee sets (ranging from forward to 7,000-yard championship) make the course genuinely accessible at every skill level. Rates scale seasonally from $36 in January to $89 in peak summer, representing excellent value even in the height of beach-vacation season. Natural pairing with The Pointe (also by Breeden, 15 minutes south) for a two-round Outer Banks mainland trip.
The Carolina Club's peak-season green fee is around $89 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Outer Banks trip cost
