The Links at Pine Hill in Memphis is one of the most historically-significant public-access courses in the South's muni golf network, originally built in 1932 as a Memphis parks-system 18-hole layout, recently reborn through a comprehensive Marc Messier (Messier Golf Design) renovation and reopened to the public in 2023. The 146-acre property sits in south Memphis's Pine Hill Park (930 E. Mallory Avenue) and is operated by the Memphis Division of Parks and Neighborhoods alongside Overton Park 9, Davy Crockett, and Galloway. The Messier-led renovation modernized the routing, green complexes, bunkering, and drainage while preserving the 1932 Depression-era muni bones of the layout. That combination, century-old site + modern renovation, places Pine Hill in a narrow Southern-muni category with Atlanta's Bobby Jones Golf Course (Bob Cupp 2018 rebuild) and Houston's Memorial Park (Tom Doak 2019 restoration). Memphis has explicitly committed to bringing its Depression-era muni network back to playable modern standards, and Pine Hill is the flagship of that effort. For the Memphis trip visitor, Pine Hill is the new anchor muni round, paired naturally with the restored Overton Park 9 (oldest continuously operating US muni, 1906) and a stay at The Peabody for a Golden Age Memphis muni-pilgrimage weekend.
The Links at Pine Hill's peak-season green fee is around $27 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Memphis trip cost
