Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the Beach Course at Waikoloa Beach Resort in 1981, a 6,566-yard par-70 resort routing literally carved through the magnificent black lava flows along the Big Island's Anaeho'omalu Bay. The course is one of two 18-hole layouts at Waikoloa Beach Resort (alongside the Kings' Course by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish). The Beach Course features numerous sand bunkers, brilliant water holes, and what Robert Trent Jones Jr. himself described as the most spectacular oceanfront par-5 in Hawaii: the 12th hole at 502 yards from the tips, with the Pacific Ocean as backdrop and a sweeping dogleg around the bay. Bentgrass greens hold firm through the trade-wind-exposed morning rounds. Peak green fee runs $165-245 for resort guests depending on season. Fits a Big Island trip as the 'RTJ Jr. lava-flow course' paired with Mauna Lani South, Hualalai (for Four Seasons guests), or the Mauna Kea Resort courses.
Waikoloa Beach Resort - Beach Course's peak-season green fee is around $215 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Big Island (Hawaii) trip cost
