Wasatch Mountain State Park - Mountain Course

The Mountain Course at Wasatch Mountain State Park is Bill Neff's 1998 high-elevation design in Midway, Utah, part of a 36-hole state-park facility (with the Lake Course next door) that sits at 6,000 feet in the Heber Valley. The Mountain is the more dramatic of the two routings; fairways climb and fall, sidehill lies are routine, and the back tees stretch across ridge-and-valley terrain that feels more like a mountain course than a state-park layout. At 6,459 yards par 71, the Mountain Course plays bigger than its yardage thanks to the elevation, cooler summer temperatures than the Salt Lake valley, thin air assisting carries, and steep drops on several holes. The 12th is a 635-yard par-5 with an 80-foot elevation drop from tee to green. The 3rd is a 393-yard par-4 that's the course's #1 handicap hole.
