The King & Bear at World Golf Village is the only golf course ever co-designed by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, a collaboration between the two World Golf Hall of Fame members (both inducted in the 1974 inaugural class) whose decades-old friendship took precedence over their storied rivalry. The course officially opened November 15, 2000 in St. Augustine, Florida. Each hole incorporates design signatures of both players: Nicklaus's inviting, generous fairways paired with Palmer's fast, bold greens. The course is set among pristine lakes, beautiful pines, and stately oak trees. Since opening, the King & Bear has hosted the Legends of Golf on the PGA Tour Champions, the Shell's Wonderful World of Golf match between Palmer and Nicklaus themselves, and multiple Qualifying Schools for PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. Peak green fee runs $115-195 depending on season. Fits a Ponte Vedra or St. Augustine trip as the 'the King and the Golden Bear together on one property' must-play card alongside the Slammer & Squire (Sam Snead / Gene Sarazen) at the same complex.
World Golf Village - King & Bear's peak-season green fee is around $180 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Ponte Vedra trip cost
