Yocha Dehe Golf Club is Brad Bell's 2008 championship design at Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, California, Yolo County wine country, 60 miles northwest of Sacramento and 90 minutes from San Francisco. The course sits along Cache Creek, carved from rolling hills and operating wine vineyards, with 7,337 yards par 72 from the back tees. The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation owns and operates the facility; Troon Golf manages day-to-day operations. Bell delivered an environmentally sensitive design that integrates native grasses, sustainable water management, and the natural undulation of the Northern California terrain. Fairways are generous with trouble in the form of creek crossings, bunker clusters, and the occasional wetland buffer. Greens are large and firm, rolling fast under Troon's conditioning standards. Vineyard and creek views show up on most holes; the routing touches water repeatedly without feeling gimmicky. Yocha Dehe is ranked in the Top 50 by both Golf Advisor and Golfweek, and is included among America's Top 100 resort golf courses.
