Aviara is the only Arnold Palmer signature design on the coastal California stretch, opened in 1991 across 250 acres of rolling Carlsbad hillside at what is now the Forbes Five Star Park Hyatt Aviara. The 7,007-yard layout winds around native wildflowers and water, most of the front nine plays through a more open, hillier corridor while the back tucks into denser landscaping with more forced carries. The LPGA's Kia Classic / JTBC Classic was hosted here for nine seasons starting in 2010, the first LPGA event ever held on a Hyatt property. Conde Nast Traveler readers have voted it the #1 golf resort in Southern California, and Golf Magazine awarded it a 2004 Gold Medal Resorts Award. Golf Digest has the resort in its 75 Best Golf Resorts list. Premium resort-tier pricing places it in the $$$ band, comparable to Torrey Pines South in peak season.
Aviara Golf Club's peak-season green fee is around $295 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full San Diego trip cost
