Pete Dye's only solo design in Myrtle Beach, the Dye Course at Barefoot Resort opened in 2000 and immediately became the most challenging, and highest-ranked, of the resort's four championship layouts. Classic Dye features dominate: angled tee boxes, railroad-tie bunker walls, strategic water hazards that reward one line and punish the other, and risk/reward options on nearly every tee. Golf Digest has kept it on America's 100 Greatest Public Courses list consistently, 29th in 2021-22, 35th in 2023-24, and 30th for 2025-26. The course has also earned area and state "Golf Course of the Year" recognition. For a serious golfer heading to Myrtle Beach, this is the marquee round of the Barefoot four, the other three (Norman, Love, Fazio) sit one tier below.
Barefoot Resort - Dye Course's peak-season green fee is around $295 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Myrtle Beach trip cost
