Ken Tomlinson designed Tidewater Golf Club in 1990, drawing inspiration from Merion and Pine Valley while working with a parcel of Grand Strand land that's nothing like either, tidal marsh on one side, pine-and-oak forest on the other, with holes that repeatedly cross the terrain boundary. It's one of the most scenic routings on the Grand Strand. At its opening, Tidewater became the only course in history to win Best New Public Course from both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine in the same year. Over the next two decades it collected 40 more awards. More recently, the course was named South Carolina's Golf Course of the Year by the SCGCOA in 2022, appeared on Golf Digest's 2023-24 Best in State list, reached #7 on Golfweek's Best Courses You Can Play 2023 State-By-State, and #4 on GolfPass' 2023 Golfers' Choice list for South Carolina. Golf Digest keeps it on its Best in State rolls at 38th for 2025-26.
Tidewater Golf Club's peak-season green fee is around $97 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Myrtle Beach trip cost
