Davis Love III and Paul Cowley built the Love Course at Barefoot Resort in 2000, one of four championship courses at the resort, each from a different marquee designer (Norman, Love, Fazio, Dye). The Love Course leans less on driving accuracy and more on smart approach play, with green complexes inspired by Pinehurst No. 2, crowned, firm, and unforgiving to anything thin or long. Golf Digest named it Best New Upscale Course of 2000 at its opening. It later appeared on the magazine's America's 100 Greatest Public Courses list from 2003 to 2007 and landed at #1 on the 2005 Top 50 Courses of Myrtle Beach ranking. Most recently, Golf Digest placed it 44th on its Best in State South Carolina rankings (2023-24). It's widely regarded as the most balanced of Barefoot's four layouts and a strong inclusion on any serious Myrtle Beach buddies trip.
Barefoot Resort - Love Course's peak-season green fee is around $225 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Myrtle Beach trip cost
