Rees Jones designed Black Lake Golf Club in Onaway, Michigan, about 40 miles northeast of Gaylord, for the UAW's education center property. The course opened in 2000 and was built across 900 acres of northern Michigan forest and wetlands, with routing that crosses ridges, bogs, and the edges of Black Lake itself.
