Boulders Resort & Spa: South Course

Jay Morrish's South Course at The Boulders threads 6,917 yards par-71 through Sonoran Desert foothills, routed among the massive granite outcroppings the resort is named for. The course literally plays under and around them rather than blasting them out, features like 'Boulder Pile' and 'Rosie's Rock' are landmarks you aim at, not obstacles you bulldozed past. The par-4 5th has a green shaded by a dramatic rock outcropping, and several holes thread between formations tall enough to affect carry-line decisions. The greens were rebuilt in 2022 to TifEagle Bermuda at their original expanded shapes, restoring putting surfaces that had shrunk by 15-20% over decades.
