A.W. Tillinghast, the architect behind Winged Foot, Bethpage Black, and San Francisco GC, and the sixth architect inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, designed Brackenridge Park in 1916 as the original home of the Texas Open. The course is the oldest 18-hole public course in Texas, restored in 2008 to closer to Tillinghast's original specifications. Brackenridge was the first inductee into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 1992. The Texas Open (the 6th oldest professional tournament worldwide and the 3rd oldest on the PGA Tour) was born here in 1922 with what was then the largest purse in golf at $5,000. Today the course is part of the Alamo City Golf Trail municipal-network at $-band pricing, extraordinary value for one of the most historically significant Tillinghast designs anywhere. For San Antonio groups, this is the historical pick alongside The Quarry's quirkier limestone layout.
Brackenridge Park Golf Course's peak-season green fee is around $65 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full San Antonio trip cost
