Jay Morrish, Tom Weiskopf, and Roy Bechtol designed the Resort Course at La Cantera in 1995, set in the Texas Hill Country northwest of downtown San Antonio. The 6,954-yard layout features dramatic elevation changes, the most notable being a sheer 80-foot drop from the 7th tee to the fairway below. The course was the home of the PGA Tour's Texas Open from 1995 through 2009, 14 consecutive years of Tour-host status that established the resort. La Cantera was named the #1 Resort in Texas and the Southwest in the Conde Nast Traveler 2022 Readers' Choice Awards. San Antonio Express News readers voted it the Best Golf Course in San Antonio in 2016.
