Cape Cod National Golf Club in Brewster is widely considered the most-architecturally-significant public-access course on the Cape, a 1998 Brian Silva design (with Geoffrey Cornish and Mark Mungeam co-credited, as Silva was lead designer for the Cornish, Silva & Mungeam firm at the time). The 6,900+ yard par-72 championship layout plays to a 74.0 rating and 135 slope on bent grass, with routing that works mature Cape Cod pine forest and Atlantic coastal terrain into a genuine New England resort-caliber test. The course's ranking history reflects its staying power: Top 10 in Massachusetts in 2001 and 2005, Top 15 in 2003 and 2007, and most recently 25th in Massachusetts for 2025-26, a quarter-century of consistent top-tier state ranking. Silva, who went on to design Red Tail (MA) and consult on classic-course restorations across New England, built Cape Cod National as a statement piece early in his solo career.
