About Horseshoe Bay Resort - Apple Rock

Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Roger Rulewich designed Apple Rock at Horseshoe Bay Resort in 1985, Golf Digest named it 'Best New Resort Course in America' the year it opened. The course sits on the highest elevation at Horseshoe Bay, offering elevated-tee views that none of the resort's three other courses can match, and takes its name from the native granite apple-shaped boulder outcroppings that frame the closing holes. 6,999 yards par-72 across Bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens, with 50 bunkers and seven water holes threaded through the Hill Country ridges. Dramatic elevation changes, magnificent oak and elm canopies, and native granite-lined stream beds that cut through multiple landing zones give every hole a different visual identity. Horseshoe Bay is the only resort in the continental U.S. with three Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed courses (Apple Rock, Ram Rock, Slick Rock). Peak green fee runs $145-200 for resort guests. Fits an Austin trip as one of the three RTJ Sr. cards at Horseshoe Bay, Apple Rock is the elevated-views premium of the trio.
