Pine Lakes is the elder statesman of the Jekyll Island Golf Club complex, originally routed by Dick Wilson in 1965 and completed by Joe Lee after Wilson's death in 1968. A significant Clyde Johnson renovation in 2002 expanded the layout to its current 6,700-plus yards, with a further refresh in 2024 that updated tees, fairways, greens, and bunkering throughout. The course winds through Jekyll's classic ocean-forest and marsh landscape with long, even fairways and family-friendly tee boxes that Johnson's redesign deliberately incorporated to level the playing field between adults and younger players. Of Jekyll's three full courses (Pine Lakes, Oleander, Indian Mound), Pine Lakes is the most accessible and the most frequently played, the island's de facto everyday course. Post-2024 renovation, conditions have come up noticeably, with reviewers now citing fast, true greens and crisper turf across the property.
Jekyll Island Golf Club - Pine Lakes Course's peak-season green fee is around $75 per round; off-peak rates drop to about $40. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Sea Island trip cost
