Joe Finger's 1974 Jimmy Clay Golf Course is the older sibling of Austin's 36-hole municipal complex in the southeast, originally a standalone 18 before Roy Kizer's 1994 opening turned the site into a GolfATX flagship. Williamson Creek winds through the property, with traditional tree-lined fairways, elevated open greens, and a 6,918-yard par-72 footprint that holds up well for a course of this age. Jimmy Clay underwent a major renovation of three holes in 2007 that redesigned them around a challenging water feature and an island green, with all greens replanted and bunkers completely rebuilt. A second renovation in 2015 reshaped four more greens and enlarged the driving range. Peak green fee runs $32-50, bargain Austin muni pricing.
