Keystone Ranch Golf Course is the elder statesman of the Keystone Resort golf experience, opening in 1980 as a Robert Trent Jones Jr. design that introduced resort-quality championship golf to Summit County, Colorado. The routing is distinctly bifurcated: the front nine adopts a links-style playing through open sagebrush meadow and around a nine-acre lake, while the back nine shifts into a traditional Rocky Mountain valley layout winding through stands of lodgepole pine. Elevation changes are moderate rather than extreme for a mountain course, but the combination of altitude (the course sits above 9,000 feet), prevailing winds off the meadows, and tightly bunkered greens keeps the round demanding without punishing mid-handicappers. Keystone Ranch is joined at the resort by the River Course (Hurdzan/Fry), and together they anchor the resort's 36-hole golf program an hour-and-a-half west of Denver.
Keystone Ranch Golf Course's peak-season green fee is around $210 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Vail trip cost
