Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club in Brewster is the only Jack Nicklaus-designed course on Cape Cod, a par-72 championship layout sitting on 429 pristine acres of private-beach resort terrain, about 90 minutes south of Boston. Nicklaus's team originally laid out the course in the 1980s after developer Joseph Cochran bought the property in 1986, then substantially redesigned it in 2008 as part of a larger resort refresh. The current routing features generous fairways, magnificent bunkering in Nicklaus's mature style, and challenging greens that reward approach-shot precision. The course is officially part of the resort (private-feeling) but open to resort guests for public play, which makes it a fixture on Cape Cod golf itineraries. The 429-acre campus includes the golf course, a historic mansion hotel, oyster tidal flats, private beach, and resort amenities that give Ocean Edge a different feel than New Seabury or the Hyannis-area tracks, more Atlantic-Ocean-resort than Upper-Cape-residential. For the Cape Cod / Newport trip visitor, Ocean Edge is the 'only Nicklaus in the region' novelty pick worth including on a 3-4-round itinerary.
Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club's peak-season green fee is around $155 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Newport + Cape Cod trip cost
