Olmos Basin Golf Course is one of San Antonio's most popular municipal courses and a fixture on the Alamo City Golf Trail, the city's eight-course municipal network. Originally designed by George Hoffman and opened in 1963, the course sits in a natural flood basin just north of downtown off Highway 281, with tree-lined fairways and a creek winding through many of the holes. Mature live oaks and pecans frame corridors that walked well before the modern era of cart-path-only golf. The course underwent a significant redesign by Jeffrey D. Blume (ASGCA) completed in November 2021, which modernized greens complexes, bunkering, and drainage while preserving the original Hoffman routing and character. Olmos Basin has hosted numerous San Antonio Men's and Women's City Amateur Championships over the decades, cementing its status as a local competitive venue. It remains one of the better values in South Texas public golf.
Olmos Basin Golf Course's peak-season green fee is around $57 per round. Off-peak rates vary by season. Call the pro shop for current shoulder pricing. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full San Antonio trip cost
