Port Royal - Robber's Row

Port Royal Golf Club's Robber's Row Course has one of the more layered design histories on Hilton Head: George Cobb and Willard Byrd laid out the original 1967 routing, then Pete Dye executed a comprehensive 1994 redesign that added or reshaped 43 bunkers on the front nine, shortened the back nine to even up par at 36-36, and tightened shot values throughout. The course plays 6,657 yards, par 72. The property sits atop what was Camp Robber's Row, a Union Army encampment during the Civil War, historical markers at every tee recount the site's history as you walk the round. Water on several holes, beautifully wooded corridors, and a celebrated quartet of par-3s with greens well-protected by bunkers. Peak green fee $90-155.
