The Prairie Club - Dunes Course

Tom Lehman and Chris Brands opened the Dunes Course at The Prairie Club in 2010 on a former cattle ranch in Valentine, Nebraska, the rugged, treeless, windswept sand hills of central Nebraska. The course is walkable, strategic, and dramatically exposed: 18 holes of links-style golf on terrain few U.S. courses can match. Par 73. Golf Digest ranks the Dunes #36 on America's 100 Greatest Public Courses (2025-26), up from #41 previously, and on the list continuously since 2015 (peak #35 in 2015-16). GolfPass named it #1 among the top 15 public courses in Nebraska (March 2025). GOLF placed it #18 on 50 Best Golf Courses in the Midwest. The Prairie Club is a destination in the truest sense, 6 hours from Denver, 5 from Omaha, and the Dunes is the reason to make the drive.
