The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks in Silverthorne, Colorado, sits at over 8,700 feet of elevation and represents one of the most ambitious mountain resort golf experiences in the Rockies. The original course on the property was completely rebuilt in 2000 by the Hurdzan/Fry design team in collaboration with PGA Tour veteran Tom Lehman, who insisted on generous fairway corridors to account for the altitude's dramatic effect on ball flight. The resulting 7,413-yard par-72 layout rates 73.8 at a slope of 135, demanding without being punitive. Lehman's design hand shows in the strategic bunkering and the elevation-aware shot values: what looks brutishly long from the tee often plays reasonable once the altitude adjustment is factored in.
