Tom Fazio and Lanny Wadkins co-designed TPC Myrtle Beach in 1999, Wadkins was an unusually active collaborator, walking the property repeatedly during construction to tune angles and shot values. The course plays through Lowcountry marsh and pine at 7,100+ yards, with bentgrass greens that distinguish it from the Grand Strand's typical Bermudagrass surfaces. TPC Myrtle Beach is the only course in Myrtle Beach to earn Golf Digest's 5-star rating in Best Places to Play. It's been ranked among America's 100 Greatest Public Courses by Golf Digest. The South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association named it 2019 Course of the Year. Historically hosted the Senior PGA Tour Championship; now hosts the Myrtle Beach Classic on the PGA Tour.
