Trophy Lake Golf & Casting is one of the Pacific Northwest's most underrated public layouts, a John Fought design that opened in 1999 on the Kitsap Peninsula about 30 minutes south of Bremerton. Fought is best known for his classic-course restoration work (Pinehurst No. 2 consultation) and his Oregon design portfolio; Trophy Lake was one of his major Washington statements. The 7,206-yard par-72 layout plays to a 74.9 rating and a stout 140 slope from the Black tees, with routing that weaves through dense Northwest forests and along terraced ridgelines. Over 80 integral bunkers, sweeping Olympic Peninsula and Mount Rainier views on the high points, and forested elevation throughout make Trophy Lake a memorable round well beyond the typical public-course experience. Fought himself pushed back on the concept of designated signature holes here, 'just a steady stream of good ones', but the par-4 4th (441 yards, all uphill and into the prevailing wind) and the par-5 18th are the ones reviewers single out. For the Chambers Bay trip visitor, Trophy Lake is the third-round inclusion alongside Gold Mountain Olympic and Salish Cliffs for a Kitsap / Olympic Peninsula public-course circuit.
Trophy Lake Golf & Casting's peak-season green fee is around $119 per round; off-peak rates drop to about $45. Cart, range balls, and caddie fees are typically separate. Estimate the full Chambers Bay trip cost
